The Pine Tree Society is an association tasked with helping children with disabilities live and play like “other children.” Started in 1935, some of its first services included providing teachers for children with disabilities who were unable to attend school; providing transportation to hospitals; and providing needed orthopedic equipment and devices. Today, the association has expanded its offerings to include audiology, case management, an early learning center, occupational therapy, sign language interpretation and speech & language assistive technology services along with a year-round camp among other events.
Pine Tree Society asked RainStorm to complete a full redesign of their original website, along with the creation a micro-site within their website to offer critical information and services related to their Pine Tree Camp. Their redesigned website is built on an easy-to-use content management system that allows them to easily add blog posts, news articles and new events. On their new homepage, they now have the ability to sign up for a newsletter, donate to the cause and stream videos that explain the importance of their work. There are many simple and readable “about” pages for each of their services, their leadership, their roots and more. The website redesign wouldn’t have been complete without the addition of accessibility tools to help all read through their website effectively. The micro-site for Pine Tree Camp includes an FAQ section, a campus tour, an interactive calendar, and direct links to apply to attend the camp or to volunteer.
